Pre-Tan Preparation Acknowledgement Form

A pre-tan prep template — clients confirm the exfoliating, hair removal and clean-skin steps that make a tan even and long-lasting.

Description

A flawless spray tan is made the day before, not in the booth, and most patchy, short-lived tans come down to skipped preparation. This acknowledgement form puts the prep steps in front of the client and records that they’ve read them — so they turn up with skin that’s ready to take an even, lasting colour. The steps are set out as simple commitments: exfoliate thoroughly 24 hours before, shave or wax the day before rather than on the day, arrive with clean skin free of moisturiser, makeup and deodorant, wear loose dark clothing, bring open shoes, and remove jewellery. Written as ticks rather than a leaflet, it actually gets read, and an open question lets clients check anything they’re unsure about before they arrive. Send it the moment a tan is booked. It’s free, brand-styled, and quietly does more for the quality of your tans than anything that happens in the booth.

Template FAQs

Common questions about the Pre-Tan Preparation Acknowledgement Form — what it captures, when to use it, and how to make it your own.

Why does prep matter so much for a spray tan?

Because the tan only looks as good as the skin it goes on. Exfoliating, hair removal timing and clean, product-free skin are what make the colour even and long-lasting — and skipping them is the main cause of patchy tans.

Why exfoliate and shave the day before, not the day of?

Exfoliating removes dead skin so colour takes evenly, and shaving or waxing 24 hours ahead lets pores close and avoids a speckled finish. Doing either on the day tends to ruin the result.

Why arrive with clean skin?

Because moisturiser, makeup, deodorant and perfume create a barrier that stops the tan developing evenly. Clean, bare skin lets the solution work as it should.

When should the form be sent?

As soon as the tan is booked, so the client has time to prepare properly. It’s the single most useful thing you can send a spray-tan client in advance.

Can clients ask questions on it?

Yes — an open box lets them check anything, like a holiday, a waxing appointment or what to wear, so they arrive fully prepared and confident.

Is the template free?

Yes. It’s free with a Fun Forms account, fully brandable, and ready to send as a link with every booking.
